Conclusion
To
play a future role in the world economy, Lebanon needs
political, social and economic stability. Lebanon is a
center of commercial exchange, economy, finance, culture,
education, tourism and the information media. It is due to
become a center of modern technological and developed
communications. However, the true horizons for this
pioneering role will not take shape unless the principles of
our parliamentary and democratic system are firmly
established. Individual, media and intellectual freedoms
should be preserved, while laws and regulations should be
implemented soundly and fairly to affirm their immunity
against transient and personal whims.
These
deeply rooted values and principles are the foundations of
Lebanon. They guarantee the proper investment of the
country’s potential sources of strength and excellence and
the resources of a consolidated and developed Lebanese
society.
The
challenges that Lebanon faces today may appear dangerous to
some, but they are dwarfed by what Lebanon has managed to
face in the past.
The
Lebanese, who have shown an aptitude for adapting to the
economic and political changes taking place in the region
and the world in the last two decades, are confidently able
to adapt and deal with the change and challenge of the
future.
We
need to depend in our revival on national accord, which we
can achieve through dialogue in constitutional and civil
institutions.
We
also need determination and cooperation to renew the
confidence of the Lebanese, the Arabs and whole world in our
country and in our nation. We must be loyal to our
well-established values of accord, freedom and democracy.
Above all, what we need is vision, then vision, and vision.
Responsible vision, national vision and futuristic vision.
